Can I fax with a phone line that is already connected to the internet?

I have DSL and the only phone jack I could fax on is connected to the interent, if I buy a spilter, can I fax and use my DSL on that same phone line/ phone jack?

yes, but you can't  talk on it, fax and be on the internet at same time, only fax+internet or talk+internet
