  1. No, guinea pigs cannot eat hamster food, rabbit food, or anything besides guinea pig food. They also cannot eat guinea pig food that has any colored bits, seeds etc. They can choke on seeds, peanuts are poisonous, and nothing else in that mix is healthy. They also won't be getting the Vitamin C they need without guinea pig pellets. Check out this website, Oxbow is the best brand by far and meets all of the guinea pigs nutritional needs. Check the store locater to find some sold near you! http://www.oxbowhay.com

Also, guinea pigs require constant timothy hay to keep their digestive systems running smoothly. They need to eat fresh vegetables daily, such as romaine lettuce, red bell pepper, baby carrots, cucumber, brocolli, celery, etc. Fruits can be fed once or twice a week as treats.

They cannot eat any beans, nuts, iceberg lettuce, grapes, unknown wild plants, bread, meats, or anything processed besides their pellets.

  2. The best diet for your guinea pig is one specifically formulated for guinea pigs. Guinea pigs have a unique requirement for Vitamin C, so a Vitamin C supplement needs to be added to the diet, since they usually do not get sufficient quantities from their food. Guinea pigs also need a daily, fresh supply of grass hay, such as Timothy or Oat. Alfalfa hay is too rich in calcium and protein and should be given only sparingly.

As well as hay and pellets, a variety of fresh vegetables, especially leafy green vegetables should be offered daily. Excellent choices would include kale, spinach, red cabbage, turnip greens, parsley and dandelion greens, all of which provide Vitamin C. Carrots, carrot tops, and just about any other vegetable can also be fed. Feed only small amounts of fruit. Guinea pigs develop dietary preferences very early in life, so it is important to acquaint them with many types of food while they are young. Outside of this basic, staple diet of hay, pellets, and fresh vegetables and fruits, anything else should be considered a treat and fed sparingly. This diet will ensure a long, trim, and healthy life for your favorite pig.

  3. Human food

  4. Hamster food is basicly just tiny guinea pig food. Not much of a difference in the mix. I'd say you could but check with your vet first.

  5. No hamster food! Oh and 2 things that i kno are toxic to guinea pigs are leaves and flowers. Also, guinea pigs LOVE grass. So if u dont have hay feed it grass.

  6. you should feed your guinea pig guinea pig feed as they need added calcium and vitamin c in their diet which hampster feed does not contain. hay is also good place plenty in the cage as it will provide added feed if needed

  8. DON"T feed your guinea this hamster food. The timothy hay pellet formula without seeds is best for guinea pigs( I like Kaytee Timothy Hay Complete), plus it is fortified with vitamin c.

  9. ask a vet what to feed it or a pet store keeper

  10. Why don't you just feed it guinea pig food? No, guinea pigs cann't eat hamster food. Guinea pigs need timothy hay and guinea pig pellets in their diet.
