I'm always spoiling my hamster, Hayley, and I have been trying to find new homemade treats to feed her. Just recently I was on Hamsterhideout.com, and they say low sugar cereals are a healthy treat for any hamster and so is milk. I was just wondering if Chex cereal was a good choice, and if soaking it with milk was ok too. If anyone can give me an answer that they are confident in, that would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

  1. you shouldn't, because most cereals have sugar in them, which is very bad, if not toxic for any pet....so i wouldn't do that if i were you...instead, you could give him/her vegetables because hamsters really like those, especially cucumbers....

remember, what we (humans) may think is a treat, some animals think is gross.....

  2. It should be fine! Don't worry, I'm sure they'll me fine!

  3. Its recommended whole wheat cereal for your hamster.soaked in fat free, low fat,or non flavoured soy milk.It should be ok for 2% reduced fat milk. Not too much though.Hope i helped and good luck! ^^

  4. Milk is good as an occasional treat. Cheerios soaked in milk is okay, but I don't know what Chex cereal is, so I can't answer that. But if it's a plain, whole grain cereal, go ahead, just offer in moderation.
