  1. Nope. Gerbil food is not for birds. Your bird probably won't want it anyways. I would just buy some bird food for like 4 or 5 dollars.

  2. Please don't. It's good that you want to keep from wasting, but your parakeet will have a much different need. Stick with quality bird food for the budgie, and share your gerbil food with the people who take your gerbils. They'll be happy to get a head start on their care.  Birds also like a bit of fruit, but not too much because it gives them the runs. They like greens too, but the same thing there. The runs, if too much. Give your bird the best you can give, and you will have a happy, healthy pet. Good luck to you.

  3. Sorry, but a parakeet needs bird food and will not eat rodent food.  Its pretty cheap though.  You could always give away the left over gerbil food to a pet store or something.

  4. please don't what would you do if your parents gave you leftover dog food to eat would you eat it?

  5. no its not good to give the food that its not made for them. becide parakeet food is not expencive, And when you give your gerbuls away give the food away too. dont forget to give fresh veggies to parakeets or else they might develop bone problems or have seizures. But thats a long story.

You will have a lot of fun with a parakeet because they are great to have as pets.

You will see within minutes you will fall in love with a new parakeet, Get a male if you want him to talk too. Have fun And keep me posted.;)
