Can I feed my rabbit a large amount of food that will last him two days?

I'm going camping for three days and I want to know if I can feed my holland lop a large amount of food (pellets, hay, and water) that will last him two of the days... if so, what would that amount be? (my rabbit is a male and he is 6 months old)

Bad Idea. Rabbits love to eat. He'll probably eat to much and get sick or even run out of food. Like any animal, they need a good, stable diet. Filling a cage of food is a BIG no no. I have a rabbit, so I know. They also need water!

You shouldn't leave an animal like that unattended for that amount of time. FIND SOMEONE TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR RABBIT :) That is the best option you have if you want to go on your trip.

if u cant find anyone to fill it up then i suggest u put his food in about 4/5 different places in its hutch and put the same amount u usually put and if u want to then put more just to be sure he's got enough

and make sure he has a lot of hay he can eat and fill his water bottle up to the top aannd DONT GIVE GRASS!! its gonna go old within a few hours

(i guess u already know this but just to make sure...)

if ur keepin him outside cover his hutch so he doesnt get frightened seein anythin outside

About 1 1/2 cups would be plenty.  Also, give him some hay in a hay rack.  The most important thing is that he have LOTS of water that he can't spill.  Rabbits sometimes dig their food out of their feeders and it falls through to the drop pan where it cannot be eaten.  They also tip over water bowls if they are not heavy ceramic ones.  A rabbit will not eat if it does not have water.  Rabbits typically drink lots of water so give enough for three days.  Clean the cage completely before leaving.  

I'm always worried about my rabbits.  I have several.  I get teens or pre-teens (with parent help) to pet sit for me.  Most kids would be happy to check in on a cute rabbit for 2 - 3 days for $5 bucks a day. It's worth a worry free camping trip.
