  1. NO, wild mice can carry parasites and disease that could potentially kill your snake.  Stick with the frozen pet store mice, it is your best bet.  Its not worth the risk of killing your snake to save a few dollars.  Plus your cat more than likely punctures the mice it brings home with its teeth or claws which can cause an infecftion that will also be harmful to your snake.  You could also maybe try www.micedirect.com they ship the mice, or rats or pinkies right to your door whenever you need them, and they tend to be cheaper than pet store mice.  Good Luck.

  2. I wouldn't if i where you, wild mice can and do carry various disease, ticks, mites etc. that could harm your snake. If he/she is happy eating frozen mice then just stick to that.

  3. no!!

lol u shouldn't becosue those ones r wild and they would have disreses and things plus u dont know wat ur cat has been dragging them in besides her mouth lol u could feed it to ur snakes but it wouln't be healthy or safe

  4. I would not take the risk... because you never know if the mouse has a illness that can kill your snake if it eats it.

  5. The only significant danger (my opinion) is if the mice had previously eaten poison.  Sometimes pets get sick this way, though they rarely die.

If you're reasonably confident that the mice your cat catches are poison-free, go for it.  The mice will be fresh, and probably more nutritious than frozen mice (wild mice eat what they like, and have more nutrients!).

  6. Go for it. It's not like the cat will eat 'em.

  7. mostly safe, but mice and rats carry a host of diseases that the cat may be immune to, but the snake may have no resistance. Are your frozen mice frozen alive? There is a food for thought about inhumane treatment.

  8. Well you could...but you could feed almost anything to an animal since they would eat it.... BUT I would never ever in my life recommend doing such a thing cause it's not safe not all.

The mice your cat catches could carry many type of diseases therefore could make your snake sick(and you know how the vet bills are) Like one disease could be month rot(which is when your snake's month starts deteriating bit by bit. Trust me it isn't a pretty sight)

The frozen mice from pet stores has been frozen which kills bacteria then when you warm it up in hot water, it also kills them too.

Well I would just recommend sticking with the frozen feeders from the stores just to be safe...though it is a little more money to put in, but it is better then being sorry because your snake is sick with something then the vet bills comes in.

Hope this could help you a little bit!

  9. they might not eat it..

they like to actually catch things. theyre not scavengers

what you can do though is just poke it around the cage with a pencil :)

  10. That's a good way to introduce your snake to parasites. And what's to say the mouse didn't just eat some rat poison at your neighbor's house right before the cat got a hold of it. That'll kill a snake. I wouldn't risk it. Buy 'em from the store to be safe.

  11. Better yet feed the cat to the snake!

  12. Yeah, cause naturally, snake are not so particular in selecting mice.

    I think it is safe.
