Can I file a claim after +6 month of incident?

My brother backed his car into my car and left damage to my front bumper and hood. It's been six months since that happened and now I am thinking of fixing it. would it be too late to file a claim? In addition to that my brother has already sold his car.

I own a body shop. Most Insurance co's block at 6 mos. If you have a police report or witnesses. That could help. And if you can prove there was an accident,then as long as you were covered. They have to pay.

6 months is streching it but all you can do is have your brother report it to his insurance company and see what they say.
