My partner and I have filed for a marriage license in San Jose, California. It was suggested to me by my work supervisor that we also file as domestic partners to get my partner onto my health plan coverage, which has language that covers domestic partners but not same-s*x marriage. Can this be done and, if so, how does one go about it?
