I get these yahoo emails from an annonymous source and I wanted to know if I can find out where the email account was created with just the email address...maybe that might clue me into who is sending them. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you.

  1. You can use

    http://www.emailseekeronline.com

    It works well for me

    Hope that can help you.

  2. Depending on what email program you are using, highlight the email, and right-click to go to options.

Scan through the Internet headers for "Received from" and somewhere in that line will be numbers in parenthesis like so, for example:

    [123.123.45.67]

There are IP Address trackers available all over the Internet, but I use the one on Arul John's Utilities Site:  http://aruljohn.com/track.pl

Either copy and paste or type the numbers only (not the brackets) into the trace box and start tracking.

The results will show the Internet Provider's address (which you just entered), host name, name of the provider, and country of origin.

If you're interested in reporting spam or abuse to their IP, below that (if available) are email addresses to forward the email with the headers to alert the IP to the activity.  You will often get a confirmation email from them that they have received it and will keep it on file to start a collection of reports.  If enough are made, the user may lose their account with the IP.

  3. Yeah, @yahoo.com is the states

anything else after would be from out of the states... such as yahoo.com.ph (mine, even though i made it in the states....)

-No sorry not without the permission of the owner of the account. sorry...
