I got sent to a rehab and im supposed to stay there till im 18 and i have 2 months left. right now im on a homepass but i dont want to go back to the rehab. My rehab is in Ohio and i want to finish my schooling in Indiana. I know it doesnt make sense to just dropout from the Ohio school to get into the Indiana school for the last 2 months but does anyone know if it legally possible to do that? Because my parents are open to keeping me at home and getting my diploma. what about homeschool? i just need any ideas so i can finish my schooling without having to go back to rehab. please help thnx

  1. absolutely yes

  2. Yes . Finish your schooling anyway which is best suited to you and your parents... If everyone agrees that homeschooling is the best option then do it...

  3. It might be legally possible, but it kind of depends on what classes you are taking, you really should finish out the year in Ohio if at all possible... there may be some classes that are not offered in Indiana, or even if they have the same classes they might approach the subject differently, with different texts.

At any rate, as someone with former addiction issues, I recommend that you tough it out and finish your rehab.  If your parents let you take the easy road and don't make you go back, they are only enabling you and setting you up for failure later.

  4. Homeschooling sounds like it would be best....

    =)

  5. 1) Finish the rehab and stay straight, OK.  Life is too precious to miss too much of it by being stoned.

    2) Forget finishing high school; after your classmates have graduated, go for a GED.  Then it won't matter if you're in Ohio, Indiana, or wherever.  The GED will qualify you for the same advantages as your HS diploma, especially if you pursue higher education.

Do NOT fool around with homeschooling for just a couple of months--if you kept up with your school work, you should be ready to pass the GED exams.  If not, those two months won't prepare you to pass the exams--you'll need GED courses.
