Question:

Can I fit more minimized windows on the lower bar of my screen (I use Vista)?

If my question is unclear, I am referring to the tabs or minimized windows that show on the bottom of the screen in that bar. Once there are maybe 8-10 of them, windows automatically begins consolidating them by creating a drop-up menu of all the windows in one program.

How do I make it so that I can see more windows without this consolidation feature? I sometimes have up to 15 windows up at a time, and I would like easy access to them all.

Thanks for your help!

  1. Right click on the bar in an empty space and the you'll get a little menu.

Un-check the "Lock The Taskbar" option.

now move your cursor to just the top of the bar until it turns from a regular arrow into a vertical arrow with points on both ends.

Click and drag it up until you have enough space.

then you can repeat the fist step but check the option back on so you don't accidentally move things around.
