Hi I am going to have a go at plastering for he first time. I have a wall in my house that has been painted with masoary paint. I have been researching plastering and am going to fix plaster board to the wall. It says to uni bond it then fix the plasterboard to the wall with adhesive. However in the pictures the wall is a bare wall without paint. Can I still use this method on my painted wall?

  1. I guess, in one sense, I'm curious as to how you define PLASTER "BOARD"???

While I can't imagine plastering as a viable option in 2008, I GET IT, that it is.

Not at all knowing the basic construction of the painted wall, the Paint has little to do with the outcome, but I certainly would use more than just construction adhesive, no matter what this BOARD is, you intend to install.

    Just my two "sense"

  2. if the maint is well adheared to the wall (not pealing or easily scraped off) then yes.  use a lot of drywall adhesive and use a lot of supports to apply pressure while the adhesive dries.
