We have an above ground pool. It is 18' by 48". My husband was trying to be helpfull and clean the pool, but used all of our alge killer and all of the clarifier. Now our pool water is very cloudy. We have been running the filter non-stop, checking our filter pump hoses, and changing the filter frequently. I have added a shock treatment, but I have read that chlorine bleach is a good alternative for shocking a pool also. Is chlorine bleach safe? And is there any way to fix what was done, or are we better off draining our pool and starting over?

  1. Probably minerals, you can get a water softener and you can put it either before or after the pump. Shouldn't be a problem for a pool of that size, especially since it's above ground, makes it easier.

  2. Bring a sample of the water to a pool maintenance store, most will check it for free and advise you what to fix the problem.

  3. there are chemicles that will do this

  4. well my friends pool was like that she put shock in it and no one got in it she shocked it every 2 hrs nd now its clear as can be like u just filled it

  5. Get some SILVER OXIDE it will collect all the particles that are making your pool cloudy ,and settle them to the bottom of the pool then you will need to vacuum the pool while its on the waste cycle, ofcoarse you may need to add a lil water after doing this.SILVER OXIDE takes 24 hours to work, but it works well.
