Question:

Can I fix this on my own? Or am I going to need to call a Plumber ....?

Last night I flushed one of my son's wipe-ees (diaper wipe) down the toilet and now every 3rd flush or so, I have to plunge the toilet!

Is there anything I can do on my own to fix the problem?

I have already plunged the toilet 3 times. It will clear out and flush, but then 2 uses later it's right back clogged up.

Our house is fairly new (2-3 years old) so it's not an old toilet. I have never had this problem with anything else I've ever flushed. Just this wipe-ee.

What can I do to fix it??

  1. You must never flush a "wipe-ee" but just keep flushing should clear out, peace out my friend

  2. You might be able to remove the clog with a snake you can get at Home Depot or Lowes.   You could fix the problem or make it worse.

Plumbers have much better equipment for this. I thing all things considered you should bit the bullet and call a plumber. The cost is insurance that the problem will be fixed.  The I'd be real careful not to ever flush anything down the toilet that was not made to be flushed.

  3. a toilet auger is the most cost effective easy way to fix this problem. you can call a plumber but it will be expensive. i had a sink drain i could not clean with a snake my self cost me $160 to have it done

  4. The other responders have already given you enough info to correct your problem so I would like to add this.

Don't flush these wipes down the toilet. They same goes for J-Clothes and feminine hygiene products. They catch on every irregular surface inside your sewer pipes. If the manufacturer says it's flushable - don't believe them. The only thing that should ever go down a toilet is human waste and toilet paper.

  5. go to the hardware store and buy a toulet auger for 10 or 15 dollares. Ask the guy there how to use it. its easy.

you will either push it  thru or you will snag it and pull it out.

  6. Do the auger if you must, but I suspect it's something other than a wipe considering what normal "stuff" makes it down w/o any trouble.  Is your son old enough to drop a little toy or something?

  7. Go plunge again. Take a 5 gal bucket of water and steadily pour it in after flushing. The extra water may be enuff to send the wipe thru the traps.

  8. buy yourself a toilet snake. ( made just for the toilet )....they always come in handy....about 20 bucks
