I lost my Green card & my license. Now all I have is the green card that expired back in 2004 & my license that expired in 2007...I need my green card in order to renew my drivers license so I'm in a stuck, applying for the green card again is not an option, $$$$ is the problem.

so can I fly to FLorida with my expired license and or green card?

  1. MJ, a driver's license that has expired is no longer a driver's license. If your green card has expired you are ripe for deportation. You need to either get things in order or go home. Sorry.

  2. No, an expired license is not acceptable.  Airlines will accept "alternative I.D. so call your airline and ask.  Also, going around without your green card is really reckless...you need to renew it promptly.

  3. Well, if your green card expired years ago, you're actually NOT a green card holder, are you?

Sorry, your expired ID is not going to do you any good. But you can probably still fly, you're just going to have to subject to (and allow time for) extra screening, which may include a search of your body and going through all your stuff.

  4. I have been travelling with my expired foregin licence for the last several flights.   They defenitely do not like it.   I have been able to get them off my back by showing them a valid credit card that matches the name on the license.
