Can I freeze fresh mozzarella?

It's packaged fresh mozza, not deli-fresh mozzarella.

Freeze fresh, soft cheeses, such as mozzarella and goat cheese, in their original packaging, or wrap them tightly in plastic wrap and put that in a zipper-type storage bag before tossing it in the freezer.  They should be eaten within about two months, and should be thawed in the refrigerator.

    When it thaws out, it will have a slightly less stringy texture, but it will taste just fine.

  3. I would not reccomended.  Fresh mozzarella is meant to be enjoyed just like that, fresh.  I'm sure you can freeze it, but why would you want to?  It is not going to taste right, you going to miss out.

  4. If youre going to use it anytime soon why freeze it at all and if youre going to use it somewhat few decades after you should freeze it, it will taste just fine but my advice dont do it too many times..once too less twice too many they say

  5. yes, im a chef, and in my restaurant kitchen. they do that when they end up melting the cheese. it depends what your using the cheese for if for a sandwich/salad probably not because it looses flavor. but if you melting it for pasta go ahead. if you wanna string, it for the look of an appetizer i dont suggest it because it does loose its stringy constistonsy.

  7. No, it defeats the purpose. Fresh mozzarella has a distinct flavor and texture. If you freeze it neither will be the same. Use it up, try it with basil, tomato and balsamic vinegar, (that has been cooked down to a thick syrup). Place one over another and add a little salt and pepper. It make a great salad when you serve it like this.

  10. NO I am afraid not it will get grainy and loose its elasticity and you will not like the after frozen texture. it will not preform the same in cooking and baking either. Sorry
