Can I germinate a mango seed by leaving it in a bowl of water?

Or should i try something else?

Could leaving it in a bowl of water somehow kill the seed?

I dont Know much about..germinating a mango seed by leaving in bowl of water.........!..........But i do know that the seed will germinate if u wrap it with a wet cloth...by providing provisions ...such that...it is continuously wet for atleast 3-4 days............

I don't think that's the best way -- the UBC link below (#3) provides a modification of the bowl of water approach. You do not want it to be totally submerged. Read:
