Can I get 2 tickets for the same thing (registration ran out on car)

I live on an army post so when the check our ID cards they look over the cars to make sure every thing is up to date. I went through and they gave me a 75$ ticket because me registration ran out and i need new tags. That happened on Friday and its Sunday and I cant renew registration until monday. If I go off post and they something about my registration again ...can they give me another ticket for the same thing?

long as you drive it and someone stops you yes and you dont have to drive it to get a new tag or register

You can go online and renew your registration at anytime. You get a receipt to hold onto to prove that your registration was renewed, and the DMV sends the actual registration card to you in the mail.

Yes, they can. The best thing to do would be to avoid using that vehicle. If you have another vehicle you could use instead then I would advise doing that.

Take the ticket with you, if you explain just as you did here they should understand.

Procedures may not allow them to forego giving you a ticket.
