  1. I believe that it would just be regular DSL internet then.  Uverse includes their whole package, TV, phone, and internet. If you want to just take advantage of the high fibreoptic speeds, you must be in an area that is Uverse ready (They are currently installing it in my area which means I keep getting no DSL and they still can't offer me better speeds yet).  Just tell them all you want is the internet service and they will transfer you to the correct place.

  2. It's not the same as regular DSL. U-verse uses fiber optics to deliver the video and internet connection. The fiber goes as far as the big brown box out on the street called a VRAD. From there it goes over regular phone lines to your house. You get both TV and internet. The internet speeds are comparable to regular DSL, but with much better upload speeds.

I'm not sure what you mean by "without TV". Just how would you view it? It goes to your TV, not your PC.
