Can I get a 401k plan by myself. My company does not offer it. If so, how and who's the best?

  1. Assuming that you are an employee, you can not have a 401k if your company does not offer it.  There is a product called a "Solo 401k" but it is for self-employed people.

    However, you can have an IRA.

    At your age, I would invest in a ROTH IRA.  


  2. 401 K plans are company sponsored retirement plans, so unless you have your own company, you cannot start one yourself. However, the same tax advantages are available as Roth IRA and traditional IRA accounts.   3. No, you can't get a 401K plan by yourself, but you can contribute to an IRA, which gives similar benefits.  You are wise to be thinking long term and saving toward retirement.
