Can I get a British passport for my half Indonesian daughter?

I'm a British and US dual citizen born in New York to British mother and British/US dual citizen father but lived in the UK since I was 11.

I live in Bali Indonesia now and just had a gorgeous little girl with my Indonesian husband. She's automatically entitled to an Indo passport but I want her to have a British one as well. The consulate say they aren't sure if she's entitled to one because she is the 2nd generation born outside the UK. Anyone had a similar situation?

If your daugther is registered as a British citizen, she can get a British passport.
