Can I get a Secret Security Clearance with waivers??

Im re-enlisting in the US Army.and the Mos i would like to enlist under(25C) requires a secret security clearance.however in order to re- enlist i need two waivers an RE code waiver(chapter 11ELS RE code:3),and a suitability waiver (5 misdaminors).I wanted to know is there even a chance at me obtaining a secret security clearance? and if there is how would i go about doing it ?

  1. Check with your S-2.  They be able to clear up all your questions and do all the necessary paperwork.


  2. I had a Top Secret for 18 years with 3 waivers, but they weren't too serious. Age, traffic violations (yes, they do that) and marijuana use.  If your're military record is clean enough to re-up, you're probably OK. I assume all the trouble was after you got out. The Chapter 11 could be trouble, but if you've cleaned up your act, should be OK.

    Go for it... the past belongs in the past, make a new future.

    Your recruiter can make a few calls and find out for sure.
