Can I get a Sportster 883 or 1200 engine to fit into a Shadow VLX frame?

Question

The VLX is a left side chain drive so I relise that some fabrication will be required. Any information will be apreciated.

you can with some work to the frame the mount but if you don't shim it just right it will bust the frame in two. and if you do get it all together it will rattle you teeth out.

you can but why it would be more trouble than it is worth.

Then again they may have said the same thing when some guy was talking about building the first old school chopper

Why would you want to. For the cost of what your trying to do, you can just buy what you want.

The VLX is a great mid sized cruiser, why turn into a boat anchor?  

If you want vibrating junk between your legs go to the adult toy store.

this sounds like a knockoff japanese frankenstein movie.... sounds like more work than it's worth.... if you are burning to use up the xl drivetrain you have, why not stick it in a custom frame instead.  your honda should have enough value in it to buy a harley type frame
