Can I get a Yahoo I.D. without getting an email address? I know people in my group that don't have Y addresses

In my group I've been told some have just Yahoo I.D.'s but don't have Yahoo email addresses. I don't like having the whole email address as my I.D. so I'd like to get a separate I.D. only? Anyone know how to do this if it's still possible.

Yes, if you want, you can sign up for another profile, from within your own account. This will just be a Yahoo profile with no email attached so people won't know what your email is.

Go to "My Account"

On the right hand, grey column on that page, click on "Edit/Create Profiles ".

There, you can choose a  profile that is different from your email and you can use it for chatting and groups without people knowing your email address.
