I am a straight male, and I want my navel pierced, but am worried a normal size will be seen as g*y, so is it possible to get a large guage piercing without waiting for a normal one to heal, then stretching it? Also is this a a good idea and what size would anyone suggest I get?

  1. oh my god please don't do it!!! just don't! it will be g*y... the size wont matter!!! and don't stretch it...ew i don't even wanna think about it!!!

i don't like piercings on guys but maybe you should try something else...nipple? eyebrow?

  2. No, you need to wait at least a year before stretching.

  3. i dont think thats a good idea

  4. No you must let it heal before stretching it you could cause problems. To be honest stretching for belly seems weird if a straight guy had one i would say leave it normal just get a guy barbell or ring once healed.

  5. Actually, most professional piercing studios now perform a mod called 'scalpelling'. This is where they make an incision in your skin to put the jewellery in. It means that they can put large gauge jewellery in from the start - so you're in luck there. It also results in a cleaner wound than if you stretch it.

So I'd go to your piercer and ask if they perform this procedure and talk to them about having it done. XD Apart from the initial procedure, the healing process, or so I've heard, is said to be much the same as a normal piercing.

As for size: it depends on your stature as well, but I've seen some 0g and 00g navel piercings that were HOT! Especially on guys, because their naturally larger frame supports the thick jewellery better.

Good luck with your mod! It sounds awesome! And don't worry about seeming g*y or anything - as long as you love it. That's what our mods are for aren't they?
