I am not realy interested in parapsychology, ghosts, and telapathy type of stuff. What I realy like are UFOs, cryptozoology, aliens, Bermuda Triangle, and other paranormal phenomenas. So can I get a major in all of these topics or something that is considered "general" Paranormal activities?

  1. There are no *reputable* schools that offer degrees in the paranormal.  And if there were, the items you mention aren't specific and focused enough to fit into one area of study.  Sorry, but there is only science.  You can study those things, but they are really nothing more than hobbies.

  2. Some universities/colleges offer courses in these subjects, but these are typically extra credit or interest courses.

As of yet, very few have made a living out of these subjects. Mostly it remains a hobby or sideline to more established subjects in the sciences.

Yes, there are authors who specialize in these subjects, but you will notice that they typically teach or do some other regular work.

  3. Not really, because there isn't enough evidence for any of these to require full-time investigators.  Most money-making opportunities come from writing popular books, or screenwriting for films.

    .

  4. Sorry, except as a Con-artist there's no career path there. It's not real,if you'd like to know why.

  5. No you can't get a degree in this area.

    Self studies lots of reading.

You can come to the institute in polls and surveys.

  6. There are several careers considered mainstream science that would allow you to study these phenomena. For instance studying astrophysics would allow you to search the stars and listen for signals from stars (and possibly an advanced civilization). I have included a link to SETI below. Meteorology would allow you to study and identify natural weather phenomena that could be reported as UFOs. Some UFO investigators have educations in physics.

Cryptzoology could be explored with a biology or zoology degree. Aliens might be harder but a medical degree to study reported implants and effects on people's body that report abductions.

It all depends on what approach you want to take to investigating these phenomena and which you are most interested in researching.

Paranormal is a general term used to cover a very large variety of phenomena and science and medicine are highly specialized areas.

A decent paranormal degree would require medical school, a graduate degree in physics, a graduate degree in psychology (both experimental and counseling), some training in evidence gathering (via police work), probably some other areas I can't think of right now. Of course if you choose one area (say cryptzoology) then one degree (say zoology or biology) will be enough.

  7. All the things you have listed fall under the heading of paranormal.  Unfortunately, there are very few actual paying jobs in the field.  Most of us who do make a study of it, do so at no charge. Good luck!

  8. Of course you can, you can start work tomorrow. Lots of perks in the job, time off when you want it, self employed, long holidays, just don't expect to get paid. Oh, and the pension scheme ain't too good either.

  9. No, but you CAN get a tattoo that says "Idiot" on your forehead I think.  It'll cost you some money to get it done right, though.

  10. where are you planning on working?  Paranormal studies is usually a hobby.  Unless you plan on writing a book.
