Can I get a certificate of my hours when working at a food bank?

I was thinking about volunteering at a nearby food bank, it would be cool to do it with a couple friends. So I was wondering if I could get a certificate of my hours volunteered there. Can I?

Not sure what kind of certificate you mean but every foodbank I've ever heard of in 13 yrs as director of a ministry  that helps with food and other things gives some type of volunteer recognition.  If you mean like proof of meeting a community service requirement for school or to use wuith college transcript the answer would be a 90% sure yes.  The best way to get a 100% sure answer is to ask the volunteer director at the foodbank,.  If you want to find a foodbank near you go to http://www.secondharvest.org.  Look for the place to enter your zip and find the nearest foodbank.IT was in the left column unless they have changes the page set up in the last couple of days.

why would you want a certificate. if it means bragging to your friends about your volunteer work your doing it for the wrong reason, do it with love and compassion and you will be rewarded, a hundred fold
