Can I get a duplicate driver's license while I have a moving violation?

I have a moving violation that I plan to contest, a friend told me that she was able to get a duplicate driver's license with no questions asked. She recieved her moving violation in a different county, mine is in the same one, but the information on my driver's license was for another county. Can I get a duplicate driver's license or will I get in more trouble? I live in Illinois

It is against the law to posses more than one state DL.

Are you planning to lie and say that you lost the first? (Bad idea.) Do you think they'll give you a new number that wouldn't be searchable? I'm trying to think of WHY you would want a dup license. Your data is stored and accessible to law enforcement, linked to your person, not to a DL.

To my knowledge it is illegal to posses more then one driver's license at any point in time. Regardless of the reason.
