Can I get a grant for college even if I make a decent living?

My wife is a teacher, so she obviously doesn't make much, and I work at a car company. We bring home about $3,800 a month together, but I lack 2 years of college, and we paid for her master's out of our pockets. Is there any way I can get a grant?? Or are grants just for those ignorant people out there who are using my hard earned money to support their 5 out-of-wedlock kids?

  1. As a person that does grant research I should tell you that you really have to change your way of thinking as far as grants are concerned!  Donald Trump is someone you can't call poor and he has used government grants before.

What is it that you want a grant for?  To pay for education that you already paid for?  I really don't think that you can get a grant for that.  Basically what you are talking about is a reimbursement.  Grants are given for a person to DO something not to reimburse the person for something that they have already paid for and done.

    Sorry!

  2. There are tons of grants available for all sorts of people. You have to do your research though.

My friend James gives good free grant info at his site, mostly for housing, but he can give you some good leads http://www.firsttimegrants.org

  3. The only way to find out for sure what type of aid you are eligible to receive is to apply.  Complete the application at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov and let the school's aid office determine your eligibility.
