Can I get a long-term car lease in Connecticut using my Canadia Driver's license?

I will be an official resident of Connecticut very soon (have an apartment, job, etc. waiting for me)

  1. That would be difficult, because you do not have residency in Connecticut.

Sure, but only if you have a 2nd residence (not hotel/motel, but an actual seasonal residence you own) in Connecticut to register the vehicle to.  But if your intent is to take the vehicle back to Canada for use, that cannot be done, the vehicle would have to be based in Connecticut for use while you are there.  Be aware that it is far easier to take a vehicle you own and leave it there for use when you are there, with registration and insurance in Canada, than to go through the hassle of registering and insuring vehicles in 2 different countries.

    If you don't have a 2nd residence in Connecticut, you cannot lease a car in Connecticut and it would not be registerable or insurable anyway.
