Can I get a phone with just texting on it?

My son wants a phone that is just for texting. He says his friend has an AT&T phone with only texting for about $20/month. Can you do this? That's really all he needs. Anyone know?

i think it''s possible go to your closest authorized mobile dealer & to them about it. go to your dealer site.

if you don't have one yet tryT-Mobile because I kno they have a texting only plan, & maybe verizon does.

I know T-Mobile offers a texting only plan. I am sure most of the other major carriers do as well. I would call around and ask or check their websites.

I know you can get one of those go phones which are from at&t which are prepaid and you can get a prepaid card for it its 20 or 30 bucks for 300 text or picture messages.

Yeah, you could definitely get a phone plan with just texting. The plan is usually cheaper but if he is going to be making calls, you should get some minutes for him to use too, otherwise the charges could be pretty high.
