Can I get a tan in Michigan today if it's 70 degrees? Is there a webite that shows the UV index?

I live on Lake Michigan and it's like absolutely BEAUTIFUL today! I was going to lay out and get some color but I was just wondering how strong the sun is!

  1. Yesterday the local weather station said the UV rays are as high in MI as they are in August. You can definately get some color in MI today!  Enjoy it (while i sit at my desk and stare out the window longing to be outside getting a tan!)


  2. I live near Kalamazoo.  Yes, you can start working on your tan today, but remember to use sunblock because the sun's rays are already strong enough to cause you to burn or, more importantly, to cause future problems with skin damage and wrinkling.

    Oh yeah, if you go to www.weather.com and put in your zip code, the information for your city, including the UV index will come right up.
