Can I get a tan whilst wearing suncream? Im very pale, and I dont want to burn but i really need to get a tan!

Its sunbathing weather outside, but Im incredibly pale and I really dont want to burn (pink is not the look im going for!!!) Ive already tried using fake tan but it just doesnt work properly on me!! Can I still get a tan whilst wearing suncream?? Thanks guys x

I had the same problem..lol..anyways use sunscreen not sunblock with a low spf and you should be good!!

yeah, i have the same problem, use a low-grade SPF like 30 or 45

My GF uses something called Johnsons Holiday skin body lotion, no sun necessary.

i think it builds a gradual tan and looks good as longs as you do it properly, She usually gets me to put it on her and i get tanned palms, grrrr.

You won't tan as much as when you wouldn't wear it, but you will still tan.

Sunblock blocks the harmful UV rays from the sun and protects your skin.

You can, it will just take longer than it would without sunscreen. Stick to spf 30 and look for a sunscreen that is waterproof and is anti-aging (so you don't pay for your time in the sun when you're older).

years ago I never put on suncreen cuz I was soooo white and I always burnt like a mother even if i went tanning in a bed with suncreen burn now I wear bana boat 30 and I have a nice tan from just 6 hrs at the beach over 2 weeks so..........wear it I noticed that you dont notice it as much untill the second time out then your really dark well if your anything like me !!!! and instead of fake tan buy the gradual mostirizers they work great use em in the winter if you can buy a pool or a near a beach float best way to tan lol!!!!   or while sunbathing have a spray bottle and spritz yourself often water attracts sun good luck

yes im very pale as well, but i use a low spf, like 8 and i got tan without burning, but then again, everybody is different. just put more on your shoulders b/c those are prime burning spots.. :)

use spf 20 or so. i would stay pale, the darker you try, you can get skin cancer

I go red after about 30 mins in the sun if i don't wear cream! But with a good factor 30 or more i can be outside all day and still get a healthy (not deep but looking good) tan.

Or you could just fake it

Sun cream reduces the amount of UV rays getting to your skin this means it takes longer for you to burn but also longer for you to get a tan.

If you don't wear suncream you can get a tan quicker than when you're wearing it, but there's  higher risk of you getting burnt.
