Question:

Can I get a telephone line installed without using BT (uk)?

I have lost all trust with BT and can't believe their incompetence at the simplest of things nor that it took them 7 weeks to fix my Dad's phone.

I would like a home phone installed but don't want to use them.

I can't get cable and all searches look like BT is the only choice.

  1. Unfortunately if there is no line into your house at present you will have to go to BT, as they own all the lines. All other companies just rent line space and usage from BT.

  2. I'm sure you can!  My friend is with NTL, and i think Virgin also  have a home phone service.

  3. Try Bulldog

Click check availability to see if you can get it.

or Give them a call to see if they will put a line in for you.

If you just want calls and no broadband, a Mobile on contract may be better.

But you may have to go with BT (openreach) to install the line and then unbundle and sign up with a different billing/call provider.

Check http://www.samknows.com/ to see if your exchange would be unbundled.

  4. you can get sky home phone and line rental without getting the tv and broadband package
