Can I get a translation for the word "Rennpolo"?

I know it's a VW car. Just wondering what the word means/where it comes from.

I believe the literal translation is:  "Rendition of polo". Except it's played in volkswagens rather than on horses.

"Renn-" is to race, from the verb rennen. A Rennpferd is a race horse, for example. Rennpolo is the racing version of the polo.
