I stole some beer 27 years ago. That's all I have. 225 hours community service. $85 fine. It was a Class C misdemeanor. Can I get a work visa for Mexico? I was 18. Dumb thing to do. But it is still there.

  1. Best advice would be to look up

    www.sre.gob.mx

there you can find all the info you may need, also approch the nearest mexican consulate to you, (usually located in any major city) they should be able to give you more info.

  2. Mexico seems particularly eager to get rid of those with criminal backgrounds.  It is highly unlikely you could get a work visa for Mexico even without a record, unless you fall under NAFTA treaty trader rules.  With a record, it may be impossible.  Is your employer sponsoring your application?  If you are being transferred to your company's Mexico office, this is the one chance that might fly since a long record of employment there is the primary thiing looked at.

  3. Mexico's immigration law requires applicants to have no criminal background.

That site explains the various visas, requirements and limitations for work.
