Can I get an easy to use, inexpensive projector setup for PowerPoint slides to carry with me to use to give talks in cafes and such?

I'm not sure what you mean by cheap, not what size screen you would plan to use.

That said, there are many relatively small projectors (under 3-4 pounds) that would easily attach to a laptop. Unfotunately, portability and reasonable brightnes (to allow presetations in a relatively bright room) often come at a price.

I'd suggest looking at the database at the 1st link and input your search criteria. The 2nd link is to a small/powerful projector (but over $1000) while the 3rd link is to to a true microportable, but not very bright projector at the other extreme for about $500.

Define your criteria and the right projector is out there ... just don't expect to pay less than about $500.
