Can I get an insurance if I do not have a car?

I have driver license, but I do not have a car. Can I buy an insurance to drive a firend of mine car's? That car has its own insurance.

  1. You can buy a policy if you don't have a car, but it doesn't cover you when you drive a vehicle regularly furnished for your use (the friend's car), or any vehicle owned by a household member, or furnished for their regular use.

    It will be easier to just have your friend add you as a driver, to their policy.


  2. You cannot purchase insurance on a car which you don't own a VIN number. You, yourself, cannot purchase insurance to drive your friend's car but what your friend can do is put you down as a part-time driver on his plan and you could pay him the difference in the cost.

  3. Yes, you can get a broadform policy that covers your license.

  4. No. Insurance is for a CAR -- you would only need health and life insurance...
