Question:

Can I get around in San Diego without a car?

I want to fly into San Diego and stay two days. I plan to visit Tijuana and maybe go to the beach. Then I will be heading to Los Angeles for a week. Any suggestions on the feasibility of doing this without a car? I can open to flying from SAN to LAX or taking a shuttle or a train. Any advice?

  1. As long as you have legs, then theres always another way :)

  2. you can fly but its such a short flight (about 30 minutes yet get to airport at least a hour before your flight,  and the fare is pretty high

you can take amtrak direct from San Diego to Los Angeles

it will be cheaper for the sure 9and more direct into downtown LA)

if you go to TJ stay alert and watch yourself Americans have been kidnapped there.  some of the police are the criminals themseleves

  3. San Diego has a trolley, a couple of train lines, and buses.  It will be easier with a car, but it's definitely doable with public transportation.  You'll have to do a bit of advanced planning, especially if you're planning on going to outlying areas.

SD to LA on Amtrak is 3 hours btw, $28/person.
