Can I get arrested for possession of alcohol in California?

Question

I'm 18 years old and like to drink. I don't have a license. If I was caught drinking by a cop will there be a fine or can I get jail time? I'm concerned because I live in a house with Section 8 and if anyone living in the house gets arrested, the family loses section 8. Any links would also be helpful.

of course you can be arrested for possession of alcohol because your underage.    If you keep on drinking the way typical teens do at your age you will end up needing to go thru rehab.

Yes, you will be arrested if they catch you.

Just don't be stupid when you drink. Do it on the DL, don't drink outside/in the public.

Ok, lets see here.  *big sigh*  You're 18 years old, underage and ya like to drink.  Oh goodie!!!  Do you have a job?  You did say you don't have a license.  Is that because you don't have a job and can't afford to drive a car?  You're living in a house that is Section 8 approved .....which means basically, most of your rent is paid by tax payers of Californian, right?  Is that because you don't have a job?  Instead of worrying whether or not you will get caught drinking....think about this.  Get a job and become a productive citizen!  *grumbles*  Your a$$ needs to go to jail!
