Can I get away without paying electric?

I just moved into an apartment last Friday in Granada Hills, CA and the electricity and gas worked immediately. It's still working as of right now. How long would it be before the companies turned them off if I don't set up billing? Also, who do I contact to set up the gas bill(i know LADWP is for electric)? Does billing start from the time I contact them or will I be charged for all usage from the day I moved in?

  1. yo u are mad lucky, dont tell people man then they will shut it off. its a glitch yo, kinda like free cable. just keep cool and enjoy the free electric. gas i dunno dude, that could be until end of month or somethin, yo just chill out until it gets cut off then call. just be like, "yo what the **** happened to my gas and electric?" act all shocked and pissed, they dont want customers upset.

    lucky yo, mad lucky

  2. They leave the service on where the landlords can get the place ready for the next tenant.  You might think you are going to get away with free service but you won't.  They CAN bill you for every day after the last tenant moved out.

Call them and get the utilities into your name now where you won't get someone else's part of the bill.
