Question:

Can I get college money even though im in the Inactive Ready Reserve (IRR)?

I was drilling in the national guard, and am now in the IRR. Im wanting to go back to the local community college, but dont have any money. I never used any military money before, and am hoping its not too late. I need to know if I can my gi bill or anything. Any help with this, would be greatly appreciated.

  2. I'm actually trying to find out the same thing. My situation is different however. I was already receiving GI Bill benefits when I transferred to the Ready Reserve. I received a letter stating that my benefits were canceled due to me "leaving" the Ready Reserve when in fact I had just entered it. Either the mistake was made in filing me as entering the reserve instead of leaving it, or they made a typo on my letter and I was supposed to lose my benefits upon "entering" the Ready Reserve.

    Good luck finding out, I have been trying to get my problem resolved for a couple weeks now.
