  1. Yes, i used to when i was younger. My parents refused to get anything but dial-up, so i took the neighbors signal.

    This is called "hogging" (Or so i belive), and is technically illegal. You're stealing speed off of them, so they'll surf slower while you're on.

    This can easily be done if they are not secured, but you could get pressed for charges if you crack thier WEP key.


  2. Yes, provided your neighbour has not blocked you from doing so. He can generically block all except his authorised access by setting passwords, or by setting unique address of devices called MAC address, then only these devices can access his router.

    It will also depends on the signal. You can do a seach and see if your computer can find it and how strong the signal is.

    Do note that some countries, it is illegal to "steal" access via the router.

    first step, ask your neighbour to share their internet connection. once they permit u, its done.

  4. If it's a wireless and he hasn't set a password, then yes you can. Otherwise, it'll take a pretty long ethernet cord
