I am origin from Switzerland, and live as an international student in Boston,MA. My question is, do I need a work permition in order to get roles in feature/independent films in the US? If yes, how can I get one so that I am able get roles, and maybe do some extras in the US? If there is a way, I would appriciate to let me know with any comments, informations and advices. Thank you

  1. You can get roles in unpaid films, not paid work. Paid work requires either a social security card or a work permit, neither of which you have as an international student.

  2. Yes you can get any film role, unless you wanted to get paid gigs with the SAG and even then citizenship is not a requirement. You will be ok as long as you had a way to report your income.

  3. no you can't, unless you get a work permiton
