Can I get gps on a sidekick lx?

  1. A GPS device isn't dependent on your car. If you'll settle for an after-market GPS device like the TomTom or a Garmin with a dash-mount attachment then you'll be satisfied with one of those two brand names.

  2. Nope. The Sidekick LX doesn't have GPS built in. Very few phones from AT&T and T-Mobile have GPS inside, but it's coming, mostly with 3G devices. You'll see more and more next year. Verizon and Sprint phones have always had some kind of GPS built in, but haven't always made it available to users. That's changing now, but you often have to pay a monthly fee to use it.

    BTW, if you dial 911 on an T-Mobile phone they will still be able to find your location most of the time, to within a certain spot, because they can use a kind of triangulation, but it's not GPS.
