Can I get hand made shoes in Italy?

Question

I've seen travel documentaries that show small shops that make men's shoes. I'll be around Bologna, Rome and Sicily. Does anyone know of one of these craftsman? Not interested in pricey famous brands.

When I was 6 years old I went to Rome.  My dad got me a pair of handmade sandals that I loved.  I can't recall the street but it was near the park called villa borgese and a ice cream/coffee shop.  Just ask when you get there and they will tell you where to go.  The locals like to be helpful.
