Can I get help with my medical bills in Texas?

I just turned 20 years old and I have close to $85,000 in medical bills. I do not have health insurance and neither does anyone else in my family & I have been trying to get insurance but have been denied due to my illness. I have been unable to work for about a year (since I've gotten sick). I am wondering if there are any programs in Texas that will help me with these bills. If anyone knows of anything at all please share. So far I have been able to get some coverage with my prescriptions due to local programs and assistance programs through tthe pharmaceutical companies.

If anyone knows of anything that would help that would be awesome.

  1. Get a job using computers.  Learning how to build web sites is pretty easy if you put your mind to it.  Get some books at the library, build some sample web sites, and get some gigs through crelance*com.  Web designers make anywhere from 50k - 120k per year.  Many designers build sites using their home computer.  In the meantime, don't pay the bills until you get money.  They can't imprison you for not paying your bills, and you don't have any wages to be garnished.

  2. Try at your State's Social Service office and Obama's health care plans are better than McCain's.

  3. medicade or medicare...apply at the state agencies
