Can I get in trouble if mpaa/riaa find get my ip address from a torrent site ?

Im talking hypothetically if the mpaa/riaa get your ip address from a torrent site thats been forced to hand them over will I still get in trouble or do they have to catch me actually downloading the torrent itself?

Plus on the side note I've stopped using p2p for like 4 weeks so what are the risks of getting caught???

  1. Yes and no. Anyone can sue anyone for anything. So they can sue you based on your exposed IP address or just cause you nailed the RIAA's lawyers daughter - but they can't, at this point, win. Thus they are unlikely to bring anymore of these suits after losing two.
