Can I get into Mexico with only a drivers Lic from San Diego CA?

Hi,

I know the law is that I need a passport to get into Mexico and back, but what is really happening at the boarder. We are in San Diego CA and would like to drive over tonight for a few hours and then drive back to CA. We have our US Drivers Lics., but some of us did not bring our passports.

take your birth certifiicate too.  and make sure it has a raised seal.  they'll test that with their thumb to make sure it's "official" and not just a xeroxed copy.

The Problem is not mexico, you can drive in Tijuana, is OK.

The deal is gonna be with the american border, would they let you in without a passport? Good luck
