  1. You need to step it up and take more honors/AP classes from the start if you're aiming at UCLA. They only count sophomore and junior years as far as grades go, but they count rigor of course load too.

  2. Dont know why you kids are like this.. Just go to a year or two of community college, save youself 20k, your taking the same classes... Then xfer to ANY four year college you want, even UCLA

  3. Try to take a rigorous course load every year and balance that with extracurricular activities that lead to leadership positions.

You can also take a few community college courses each summer (courses in the a-g subject areas that are UC-transferable; the grades are weighted and you receive college credits without having to take AP exams) to help boost your GPA and to show UCs you are motivated to take that extra step to achieve academically.

  4. It is too early to tell, and you don't give much information.  If you are a California resident and finish in the top ten percent of your HS class, then you will be admitted to some UC.  To get into the better ones (Berkeley, UCLA, UCSD), you will have to do better than that.  You will need a high GPA, higher rank in class and high SAT scores.

If you are not a California resident, then it will be slightly harder to get in.

  5. You need to contact the Admissions office, they should be able to answer any of your questions.
